Data Rack Protection

Versatile Protection System

Data Rack protection is a cost effective measure to increase compliance with ISO/IEC22237-6:2018 Protection Class 4 and ensure your physical security risk management profile meets client expectations.

RackWatch is a rack tamper device that provides a physical protection barrier at the front and rear of each data rack or cabinet. With adjustable mounting hardware our RackWatch detection curtains are able to be fitted to enclosed cabinets with or without access control as well as open racks to protect from equipment tamper and/or invasive data access.

Conventional Access Control Systems

Access control prevents the data cabinet door from being opened but it doesn’t prevent or detect the door having a hole cut for invasive access, in fact intrusion into an access controlled data cabinet is a simple process using basic technician tools. With RackWatch deployed inside front and rear doors, even if a hole is cut, the instant a hand or tool is inserted through the hole RackWatch identifies the intrusion and activates a range of notification scenarios including audible and visual alerts, integration with video management systems and third party intrusion systems to notify both local and remote personnel of the event.

RackWatch can be deployed as a standalone system or integrated into an existing access control system.

The Watch Series Controller is able to provide alarm outputs for integration into third party intrusion/ access control systems and is able to provide localised LED indication of the status of its light curtains at any time.
RackWatch is able to provide isolation facilities for technicians needing to work on each rack or cabinet by supporting an isolation input from third party access control systems. This means that operational protocols are able to be enforced to ensure only personnel authorised to access racks or cabinets are able to do so. Rack Watch has an automated re-arm capability in the event that an isolated rack or cabinet has been left unattended for a predetermined time the Watch Series Controller will re-arm. For technicians convenience the re-arm function is easily reset by breaking either the front or rear light curtain during the re-arm sequence. Once the predetermined isolation period is complete the Watch Series Controller will begin the re-arm sequence and the rack or cabinet will once again be fully protected.
